On September 3, 2002, Soochow Mason Optical Co., Ltd. (referred to as 'Suda Mingshi',the predecessor of Suzhou Mason Optical Co., Ltd.) was established by a scientific research team led by Academician Xue Mingqiu and Professor Yu Jingchi from the Modern Optical Research Institute of Soochow University. Since 2019, all optical business activities of Suda Mingshi have been transferred to Suzhou Mason Optical Co., Ltd. (referred to as 'Mason Optical').
Mason Optical has over 20 years of experience in developing high-end lens molds, freeform lens software, customized freeform lenses, and stock ophthalmic optical lenses at an international level. The company's self-developed freeform lens software and progressive lenses lead both domestically and internationally. And proprietary glass progressive molds for resin lens casting are globally recognized as hidden champions in sales.
Currently, Mason Optical holds over 100 Chinese national invention and utility model patents. It has collaborated with research institutions on projects like aspheric, progressive multifocal, and myopia control products, earning multiple awards from the Ministry of Light Industry, Ministry of Machinery Industry, and Ministry of Education for technological innovation.

Founder of Suda Mingshi, Professor at the School of Physics Science and Technology at Soochow University, Director of the Modern Optical Technology Research Institute, and PhD advisor in Optical Engineering. He also holds multiple key roles in national research and standards committees and enjoys special government allowances.
Chief Ophthalmology Consultant
Lifetime Professor at Fudan University's affiliated Eye, Ear, Nose, and Throat Hospital, Senior Academician at the Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology, and Chair of multiple national standards committees in ophthalmology. In 2023, he was appointed as Mason Optical's Chief Ophthalmology Consultant for life.
Lifetime R&D Consultants
Professor Qian Lin is a faculty member at Soochow University and a graduate advisor for master's students. She graduated from Peking University and has extensive experience in computer software design and mathematical modeling. Her designs for progressive multifocal lenses have been widely recognized by both domestic and international clients, and he holds over 10 authorized patents.

Professor Xu Guanghua, also from Soochow University, is a graduate advisor for master's students and a recipient of the National May Day Labor Medal. With over 40 years of experience in optical product design and process development, he has been involved in numerous company R&D projects, receiving several awards at various levels. He has filed 25 patents, with 22 already authorized.
